The International Training course is based on the latest guidance and best operating practices. Fly Compliant, LLC starts by developing an international manual written to the specifications of each operation. The manual is then used as courseware in training ensuring the policies and procedures reflect operations.

Specifically Part 91 Operations

The following items are standardized among operations:

  • Maintaining accuracy along and across the track
  • The Mach Number Technique
  • Accurate reporting of positions and the use of accurate time in reporting those positions
  • Knowledge and understanding of standard ATC phraseology used in each area of operation
  • Importance of crew members cross-checking one another other to ensure that ATC clearances are promptly and correctly complied with
  • Use and limitations, in terms of accuracy, of standby altimeters during contingency situations
  • Characteristics of aircraft altitude capture systems which may lead to the occurrence of overshoots
  • Relationships between the altimetry, automatic altitude control and transponder systems in normal and abnormal situations
  • Aircraft operating restrictions related to airworthiness approval

Certain areas have unique operating requirements and are known as Special Areas of Operations (SAO). Training in the following areas is based on each operator's area of operation (Letter of Authorization or Operations Specializations):

  • Areas of Magnetic Unreliability (AMU)
  • Polar operations
  • North Atlantic Minimum Navigation Performance Specification (NAT/MNPS) airspace
  • Canadian MNPS airspace
  • Central East Pacific (CEPAC) airspace
  • North Pacific (NOPAC) airspace
  • Pacific Organized Track System (PACOTS)
  • Restricted international areas
  • Arctic Ocean or Antarctic Ocean
  • West Atlantic Route System (WATRS) and the Caribbean Sea
  • South Atlantic (Atlantic routes)
  • Gulf of Mexico control areas (Gulf routes)
  • Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) Required Navigation Performance (RNP)-x (x is the value in nautical miles associated with an airspace or route that requires a specific RNP)
